Neville Goddard was born on February 19th 1905 in St. Michael, Barbados in the British West Indies. He was part of a large family; he had eight brothers and a sister. At seventeen, Neville came to America to study drama and shortly after became a dancer. He began Touring with his dance company in England where he met a Scotsman who gave him some books on the power of the mind. When he returned to New York, he decided to give up dancing and delve into spiritual and mystical matters. Later on in life Neville met a man by the name of Abdullah who taught him Esoteric Christianity. Together they studied Hebrew, the Kabbalah and the hidden symbolic meaning of scripture. Abdullah became a mentor to Neville, planting the seeds of many of the philosophies he went on to teach. The main concept of these teachings was: Believe that you already possess your goal, and so you will.
Neville spoke of an experience where he was reincarnated as a child in his own skull and he talked of “the promise” that each of us is waiting to be liberated through a metaphysical rebirth. He compared this experience to the crucifixion of Christ, in which God became man so that one day man could know himself as God. Neville believed that our imagination was the “God-seed”. His teachings are now widespread and give people important tools to manifest the life they desire.
